I take a million pictures. I take at least one a day. On vacation, it's hundreds. Jared takes a million on vacation too. So, we come back with hundreds of pictures from any given event.
There is no way on earth I would be able to scrap book even a quarter of them. Don't have the time or the money for that.
So, I make books and I love them. There are currently 4 books in what we call our "family library". The two most recent additions are the "Nichole & Jared (dating/engagement)" and "Las Vegas!". We enjoy looking at, sharing and preserving our memories.
I know, you look at these and money signs fill your vision. But, there is a trick. Regularly you can find these photobooks at discounted rates on Groupon or Livingsocial or by subscribing to emails from various sites. I like picaboo.com and mypublisher.com. Regularly they offer 60% discounts on books or buy one get one free. I just purchased 2 $10 20 pages books from groupon and a $50 gift card for picaboo for $20 through their promotional email.
So I got 4 books for $40! Awesome!
So get out there and start building your family library, one event at a time!

I love the pic books! I take way too many as well. But we hold out to the end of the year when Blurb has the coupon and order one big family book at a time. Such fun!!!
Love this idea! I have had intentions of doing a whole year in one book, but then it seems like too much work when I start creating it. Making smaller books for certain events sounds perfect!
Te year was too much for me too. The smaller events work well for me. All vacations or big events get books and then I plan on doing a book or two of random events like birthdays and such. Combined with our family journal I think it will be a good combo. And I put a cd of all pictures glued into the back of each book (even pics I didn't use and with videos). I want to make videos of each thing too to add but I'm working on adding that this year.
