Food!

I love getting bountiful baskets! I love that it challenges my skills in the kitchen. It makes it fun too!

This week I got a ton of peppers! What do you do with peppers? I think you may see a recipe for something this week.

Wow!! I so wish we had that out here. There is something similar, but way too expensive. Have you heard of Lacto-fermenting??? It is very simple, and very tasty! You should give it a try with your peppers!!! If not you can always chop them up, as well as some tomatoes and onions and put them in a jar with a touch of salt, then hot water bath it for 10 minutes. It will cook and seal the jar. You can use it to make sauces through out the year! Just make sure you use acidic tomatoes. Otherwise, you have to add some citric acid or something.

I have heard of the lacto-fermenting, I'm just chicken. I want to try it but I guess I need to build up my courage. I normally chop and freeze my extra veggies but was thinking of trying something new...maybe I could think about this...
And Hope, you can start your own bountiful basket location in AL! Go to the website and it gives you details on how. It is the greatest thing for me. It has made my food storage grow and also forced me to use new fruits and veggies.
