Bits and Pieces

This is the post my dog ate...but enjoy it anyway!

It has been a crazy couple of days. I feel like I have had plenty of time to work and sleep. And the random stuff in between has been lacking. I don’t know how you guys with kids do it. It is just me and I am exhausted at the end of the day. Part of that might be insomnia, but I have been in bed by 10pm lately which is crazy for me. I am used to being up much later. But lately can’t get enough sleep.
Well, a quick recap from the last few days.
Monday morning my friends and I went to breakfast at a place called Jeremiah’s. I hadn’t been but two of the four had, so we tried it. Once a week (or somewhere close to it) these girls and I go out to eat, or do a potluck or something fun. Just to be together. I love it. They are great! We played catch up and laughed and chatted about the things that had happened since we had last seen each other. Which has been a little while because of people going out of town and such.
Anyway, I had pancakes that were huge, and eggs, hash browns, bacon and sausage. I loved it! I did eat it two days in a row because I had had so much. But it was good.
I have been working at the internship 40 hrs a week so I am spending lots of time with that. I have been helping out with some accounting and basic HR stuff the first week or so but I am about to start on my big project. I am updating (or creating as the case permits) a job description website that will be pulled from for all kinds of things. I also help with (which is really my passion!) the monthly new employee orientation and trainings that are needed for staff. It has been so much fun and I have learned a lot. I really like the people that I work with too. That always helps! But I wake up in the mornings excited that I get to go to work. After I get over the disappointment of being awake at least. I have been enjoying so many things lately that I can't think of all of them. Odd I know. I just finished reading a biography of Mother Theresa that was wonderful and am looking for a new book. Any suggestions? I have my fun reading, but I need my "intellectual" reading too. My roommates are all moving out and new one will be moving in soon so I have to really clean my house. I look forward to the day that I have my own place. Soon enough I suppose. Just not soon enough.
Well, that is what I have been up to. I will try to be better about updating. Really!

Wow, I just drolled on the floor, I love super breakfast, especially hash browns! As far as the books go I have a few suggestions. The first one is "These is my words" by Nancy Turner. It may be my favorite book of all time. It is historical fiction so I think it counts for making you smarter. And if that is not brainy enough for you I just read "Manhunt: the 12 day hunt for lincoln's killer" by James Swanson. It is actually really interesting, but it is around 500 pages and takes a while to get through.

I love long books. I read thousand page books as my "fun" books. Those sound like fun, I will have to check them out and read them! Thanks Liz!
