Pictures!!

Ok, so here comes the barrage of pictures! ENJOY!

Caius

Leland admiring my flowers. He in fact, took them away from me
and was upset that he couldn't keep them!

Ciaus giving me hugs

Robin and Leland, after he had taken the flowers, before he gave them back

There were lots of pictures of Robin's family, but this one cracks me up!

This one makes me laugh, Leland has a look of "You want me to what?"
and Ciaus has a look of "get over it!"

With the in-laws and my super cute husband!

 Jared and his parents

Jared's side of the family, I love them!

My sisters-in-law and me. I am so lucky, they were both so helpful!

I adore, and I mean Adore, my nephews and neice.
Luckily, they like me too. This picture makes me so happy.

This one is so me!

One of my favorite pictures, period. I love these two boys to pieces!

Mother-in-law went and got almost the same shoes as me, haha! It made me laugh.

 My side of the family

My parents and my amazingly handsome Jared

I love this picture of me! my parents look good too! haha

Love the dress in this one

Everyone loves this one. I like it. We just both look SO YOUNG!

This is one of my favorite pictures! It makes me so happy and look at how stinking awesome he is?

ok, I figure that is enough for today. I'll post more tomorrow.

Catch Up

So I realized that I have some catching up to do. I have vacation pictures to post still, pictures from the wedding, and all kinds of odds and ends to post as well! How did I get so behind! It is crazy.

So the goal this week is to get updated. And to add the new weeks worth of info.

I am hoping to get some sleep in sometime this week, but my weeks always seem to be so busy and then I forget/miss/don't have time for the things I really want or need to do. This week's goals:

1) go to the temple
2) update blog
3) clean kitchen floor (so icky!)
4) finish transferring old data to new computer
5) start on research

Whew. Ok, that is I said it out loud (or at least typed it) so that should help me get it all done, right?

I Lied

Ok, so I lied. I didn't get to the pictures the day after the wedding. And I didn't get to them today. I am just too busy! I am sorry. So, as a peace offering (don't kill me Liz!) I am uploading this video. Enjoy it. You can check out the dress and some dancing.

I hope you enjoyed this little tidbit. Uploaded while I got ready for bed. If you notice the time, it is 12:50am. I have no time! Maybe I have a few spare hours on saturday. I think.

The End of the Road

Finally the feet have stopped swelling and things are calming down after the "big day". Today marks the first family departure (excluding the bride and groom of course which barely left town yesterday). My Great Aunt Kitty (my mothers, mothers, sister, in the dark glasses) leaves today. We love to see her and are sad to see her head back to Oregon. I look forward to seeing her again soon.

My brother Jeremy and I leave tomorrow. Jeremy (the bald one) leaves and come back in about 6 weeks. To my parents (and brothers!) delights he will be moving to Iowa. But that isn't all! There is other big news too...
My grandmother, (again, my mothers mother, with the necklace in the picture) will also be moving here in 6 weeks. Into an assisted living facility but still here from her home of 20 or so years in North Carolina. Mixed feelings from family. It will be good for her but taxing on my mom and in turn the family. So I just hope for the best.

I head home to a new job and some research this summer. I am excited to see my girlfriends. I don't feel like I have seen them in a while and to me they are sisters. There is so much to catch up on and the gabfest that we will have when we get together will be hilarious. I am so lucky to have them.

Jumpin', Jumpin'

Well, by popular demand, or at least Emily's excitement about the jumping picture, I will post the whole progression of that singular most wonderful moment.

This is the pre-jump. Everyone in position, ok, make sure you jump on three, and smile...girls, hold your skirts down! 1...2...3...

Oh, gosh, this might just hurt coming down in bare-feet on cement!

Oh, yeah, it did hurt.

DONE!

Well Robin is a Bertelsen now. It is done! I am glad it is done. It was a long day and full of craziness but we had some fun and took some great pictures. It was a lovely day for a wedding, bright and warm, but not hot or too humid. Just a little windy. But it was fun.
I am glad to be done with all of the bits and pieces. The day after headache and foot ache are in full force so don't worry about that.
The Bridesmaids dresses/skirts were finished at 8am the morning of, with the wedding at 11am. So it was cutting it close. And the dresses did not fit so well for the poor girls who had dresses. Robin didn't mind so it was ok and I guess that is all that mattered.

One last time

Well, she tried on the dress one last time last night with all the jewelry and shoes. She was glowing and calm and ready to go.

This morning she was frazzled, crazed and in tears more than once.

What a lovely day for a wedding!

I am about to head off to Nauvoo, where I will take hundreds of pictures, not to worry. I will post lots over the next few days. Enjoy your day and remember that today is someones wedding day. Enjoy memories of yours and all the craziness and happiness that went along with it.

Family

So with the first reception done it means that we are only working hard to finish all of the stuff for the actual wedding and the second reception. It is crazy and hectic and it is begining to fray the nerves of my parents.
Do you notice the "bling" on my dad's bootaineer? It made us laugh.
My grandmother came in yesterday, my brother tonight and my great aunt tomorrow. Everyday the house gets more and more packed. With less personal space it gets more and more tense. But what is a good is a family without hilarious blow ups?
Oh, and my mom promises to be a part of the macarena at this wedding. We are all waiting on baited breath. Last year when Rachel got married dad's macarena was a huge hit so we are excited for mom's performance.
It has been raining today and it is cold. But the forecast for saturday is 75 and sunny. So lets keep our fingers crossed!

Leavin' on a jet plane...

Packing is not easy. Which suitcase do I take? Will it match my outfit? And will I have enough?
I leave tomorrow morning for IA to my sisters wedding. So there will be all kinds of interesting posts and pictures. I can't wait to see my mom!

The Five Steps

So, finals week is here.Yep, the most anticipated week in the last 16 weeks. With it comes a flood of emotion.

First you will feel dread. That paper your professor told you about 15 weeks ago, is now due. And really, there is no way to fake a 20 page research paper. You spend sleepless nights reading and studying for a paper on satisfication and write it as fast as you can, glad to hand it in. And suddenly you feel bad that you just wrote a paper about settling for what is easy and taking the lazy way out. Luckily you used the word "satisficing" which was a vocab word and it worked.

Second you feel anxious. You want to be taking the final already but you are scared to take it. You go back and forth about studying until there is only enough time for the 15 minute cram session before the final begins.

Third, relief that it is done. No more books, or tests or anything! You heave a large sigh of relief that you no longer have to wake up at the insane hour of 7am and be in class pretending that you are all there.

Fourth, a little lost. Suddenly you have no papers to write, no reading to do and no more exams. What do you do with your life now?

Fifth, and my least favorite, resignation. You got your grades. There is relief in the B you got in one class but not so happy about the C in the other. If only you had studied.

Well, there is always next semester when you will study every night and be on time to every class...ha ha ha!

In other news...I got an 90% on my last math test. And for those who know me, me and math do not mix. So bask in that while I deal with the five steps of finals.

Oh, and less than two weeks until I head to Iowa for the wedding. I am excited to see my mom!

It is Coming

Yes, it is. The last in the string of Lee weddings for a while. Or least one can hope. I am ready for a break from the planning of the wedding that is always right around the corner. Well, I guess I don't mind other people's weddings, just not the ones that I have to be a part of.

School is almost over for the semester. How does that happen? Really, it seems like we just barely started and here I am at the end of another semester. The good news? Only two more left! And I got an internship. HORRAY! I am so excited that I can hardly stand it.

This is an older picture of me, but I felt like sharing. This was taken right before I went to school. Can you see a difference? Do I look Smarter?
