Holiday Prep

So every year I have different roommates and every year my roommates are shocked and amazed at my holiday savymn. They laugh when I talk about decorating for Christmas but it isn't until I start pulling out the large rubbermade tubs and tree boxes that they begin to understand the madness.

A tradition that I have managed to carry out the last few years is the making of stockings. Every year I wait for the coupons to Joann's or Michael's (two of my favorite stores!) and pick up the materials for this holiday tradition. This year is a chrismas red felt with the same color scheme but the fun of the project is laying out an array of materials and seeing what develops. No two stocks are ever the same and every year people enjoy coming to our home and trying to decide whose stocking is whose. Mine, I will happily admit is always the easiest to spot.

Last night brought the traditonal making of the paper chain that adorns my kitchen doorway, my nativity is up and tomorrow after my Thanksgiving Sushi, I tear down the fall decor and and up goes the lights and all the Christmas trimmings.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving and a Happy Christmas Season!
