Good Eats

Well, I have been so wrapped up in being at home with my family that I haven't had a lot of time to sit down and share. So, tonight, as the snow comes down in blizzard form, I will recount the last week.
I arrived on monday, with delightful plane trips in the morning. I got the chance to hang out with my mom and then later the rest of the family at home. It was great. Monday was also my parent's
30th wedding anniversary.
So, my mom was surprised with a Bernina sewing machine, which she has been wanting for years.
My dad was given tons of gift cards toward his new big screen tv. A few days later, my dad went and indulged in a
48 inch flat screen tv.
This is larger than a small child! But it makes for a great movie experience.

This afternoon after the last bit of christmas shopping was done we sat down and watched Stardust, which is an awesome movie. Highly recommended.
Also, our family has a guest this christmas, Alt. He has been a friend of my brother jeremy's since high school and he was in choir with me as I recall. Well, not in my choir, but in choir. But as a thank you for the family he has made an amazing dinner this evening! Frechetta and portabello mushrooms to start, stuffed chicken breast with spinache and three kinds of cheese, spaghetti!

Ethan and Alt in the kitchen, it is nice to see the boys in there for a change!

We have eatten great so far this trip! Shrimp alfredo last night, salmon cakes the night before...it has all been so wonderful. Ah, the joys of being at home! Don't you wish you were visiting this christmas?

And last but not least, a picture of my new hair. It looks black in this picture but it is a dark, dark red. And I love it! It is an extreme a-line and I love it because the back of the hair is the hardest part!
I hope everyone else is enjoying a great week leading up to the holiday as well.

I LOVE your hair! It looks awesome, I want that color in my hair now too. I am such a wimp though, I know if I start coloring my hair then I will have to maintain, it's such a dirty work...

It is a dirty work, I agree. I did it because I had too much grey and couldn't handle being grey so young. Really, I thought mid-thirties I could start working on the grey, but no. Not even thirty! But it is great color and I recommend it. When that time comes, do the dark red!

The food looks great, so does the hair. Love a good hair dye job, it gives me the warm fuzzies.
