What a Day

Did you ever have one of those days (or weeks) when things just never went right? That is my life, my week, my day.
I went to pick up a friend from the airport this morning, as a favor. It was not the best weather and I was slipping and sliding. I made it to the airport and picked her up and headed back north. About 20 minutes from my house my tire blows. We luckily are able to pull off I-15 and into a parking lot. The tire was shreded. Luckily my friend Kim had a friend who didn't live too far from where we were and he came to help me get the lug nuts off my tire. It was snowing and it was not fun.

Brant and Kim helping with the tire.

Then a really nice guy, mexican guy came to help us out. He started helping Brant (kim's friend) with the spare tire. I got the car up on the jack and tried to help, but the spare tire was rusted on and we couldn't get it out. So I had to leave my car jacked up in the snow and go to Sam's to buy a new tire. I hate buying new tires. Luckily a dear friend of mine bought me a new tire, which was a huge help.

This was very wrong, but the hispanic man who was helping got into my trunk to try to get my spare out and we were laughing that that is what it must look like to smuggle someone across the border. Sad, but it made us laugh when I was crying. It was sad. But I had to share.

It was just a long day. I was covered in snow and getting home was not my idea of fun, I saw a lot of accidents happen in front of me. Thank goodness for little miracles that the tire blowing out was not that bad and no one was hurt. I made it home without sliding and getting in an accident.

Check out the hair, chuncks of ice to try to get out of it.

I am ok, and today, that is enough.

I am glad you made it home safe and sound. It sounds like you are a great friend, that must be why you have great friends that help you out too!
