I have my first real three day weekend in a while. It feels kinda crazy to think that I have three whole days off. Considering I have worked 6-7 days a week for the last month and half it is good thing. I have found myself with a lot less patience and desire to be helpful in my life when I have no free time and the amount of stress that I have had lately.
I have been doing pretty good lately and have enjoyed the chance to have some fun this week. I enjoyed Eclipse at t pre-screening earlier in the week. Yes, I am one of those girls. I did not wear Twilight paraphernalia, scream for Edward (although, I did scream for Jacob when he kissed Bella and louder when Bella decked him!) or am I obsessed with it. But, I do enjoy a little bit happiness and drama when it comes around in a form that really can't affect my life, haha!
I am off to Ikea this weekend and I am looking forward to that. Who doesn't?
The relief of writing what I want to and not what I feel bound to say and not is so liberating! That little bit of stress relief has been a wonderful thing.

Pre-Birthday Bash
I have some pretty great friends.
We spent the day giggling and laughing and all in all just having fun.
We started out with a movie, "When in Rome" which was funny. Not the best movie ever, but it was cute. I laughed pretty hard.
We had a few minutes to kill until our dinner reservation was ready so we headed over to Deseret Book and browsed and of course found tons to buy.
Then dinner at a great place, The Sonoran Grill, so good! I loved my fish tacos with mango salsa. So yummy. We had enough of us that we got our own room! Definitely made the day more entertaining.
Then, we went and painted pottery. It was so much fun! I will share pictures soon, I am just ready to get to bed. But it was so much fun. I painted this amazingly cute teapot-for-one where the teapot sits on top of the cup and it is just adorable. Can you guess the colors I did?
I really just had a great time. I have pretty great friends and am so blessed and lucky. It was a great early birthday present. And next week we get the REAL birthday stuff. I can hardly wait.

What a Weekend!
Thursday night I went to a seminar entitled "How not to fall for a jerk!". It was entertaining if not common sense stuff.
Friday night I met my friends Lisa and Mallory for dinner. We enjoyed soup and great bread at Great Harvest with a side of hot chocolate.
Then we joined the crowds for the Dashboard Confessional concert. It was so much fun! I did get caught in the mosh pit but I oddly didn't mind that much. It was kind of fun.
After the concert we decided to go see "Leap Year". Oh my goodness, it was hilarious! We laughed so hard through the movie. It is definitely worth seeing.
Saturday I got tickets to Best of Fest from Sundance Film Festival. So exciting to see movies at Sundance, always good movies.
Then I headed up the mountain and watched some Dew Tour action. It is amazing at what some of those snowboarders and Skiers can do. I have no desire to do most of it, but it was still pretty cool to watch.
Then this evening I caught up on laundry and started planing for a cruise with friends. So excited to go! I have wanted to go on a cruise for a while but no one has wanted to go with me until now. So we are trying to decide if we do eastern Caribbean or just Bahamas. Either way I am excited about it.

Sleep and Movies
I would like to think that I am able to stay up late, get little sleep and be fine. The truth is somewhere around 30, that stopped being the case. I remember staying up all night multiple times and getting very little sleep and being ok. That is not the case now. Not at all. I am still feeling the affects of thursday night which bled into friday night. I have be up and out in the world in just a few hours and I am dying to go to bed. But my brain is saying, "what, we aren't going to bed at 2am?"
Ok, I am off to try the sleep thing again. Enjoy the last of your holiday weekends!
Anyway...I want to recommend a movie. I don't do it much but I saw Invictus this weekend and I loved it. Not just because Matt Damon is in it. The story is one that I really found to be thought provoking and because it is a true story, even more inspiring. Morgan Freeman was amazing as Mandela...truly amazing. I was the youngest person in the room by far when I saw it, but it was definitely worth watching.
Ok, I am off to try the sleep thing again. Enjoy the last of your holiday weekends!
