Do You Ever?

Stay up too late reading? Cause I do. All the time. I can't wait to see how a book ends even if it means I have no sleep the next day. I read a great book last night...until very very late. I need to not do that no matter how good it is.

I spent my afternoon yesterday watching some HGTV (one of my favs!) and doing some painting. I really wanted to go to the gym, but I refrained. Instead I worked it out in paper. I am getting good at what I like. Maybe not good to anyone else, but I love it. I have a more impressionist/modern art feel to most of my paintings. Not so much people of things, but feelings and colors and shapes. I want to look at a piece of art and not think, wow, that looks like so and so (even though I totally admire people who can do that!) but I want to have people feel something. Just like with my writing. Which I cranked out this weekend too. I just felt the creativity this weekend apparently. Maybe I will post a teaser for my book and some pictures of art this week.

Oh and I finished my Christmas cards and my list of gifts for people this year. Yeah, I am aware it is August, but fall is nipping at my heals and I can hardly wait to decorate. I am making myself wait until the first of September, but I want to do stuff right now! And fall leads to winter which leads to...Christmas. It is soon. I am excited for fall.

Day 1

So, it was day one. I was a little nervous to start, but once I started it all just came flying out. I am excited by the idea of it. There are some kinks and some twists and turns that I have no idea how I am going to work out, but I am happy to report that my outline is done, character back stories written, and story started.
This may not be good at all, or it might be genius. All I know is that it makes me excited and gets my creative juices flowing again. I am excited for that.

30 Day Challange

In my online travels I found this very interesting website/organization. The idea is that you write a novel in 30 days. A 50,000 word novel. In 30 days. Can you imagine? So I decided to would try it. I am a little nervous and a little excited.
I used to write a lot in high school and just after. I wrote short stories, novels, poems and songs. I did some of everything. I miss not writing. My mom was talking about how she wrote a few short stories recently and loved it. It made me want to write too. I have written a lot but I think I am going to branch out a little with this writing experiment of mine. I think I am going to write a fantasy novel. Not a crazy one, but just a little fantasy twist I think.
I will keep my blog readers updated with my word count for the next 30 days. I will start tomorrow and will end August 2nd. Maybe I will even put excerpts up on a website. Hm. We will see.
