Testing, Testing...

I love my calling at church. I have been a member of the Mid-Singles program from the first day our stake was asked to start the program. I was a little nervous at first but these people are amazing! I am so blessed to work with them.

This week as a committee we went to SLC and went to the Mormon Channel radio headquarters. We all had the chance to record our testimonies about the savior, the atonement and how the gospel has affected our lives. As each member spoke I was touched at how lucky I was to share in this amazing experience with them. The Mormon Channel can be found online, as an iPhone app or as a satellite radio station that is broadcast all over the world. I listened as these men and women spoke about their savior and their great love for him. How blessed I am to be able to share in those testimonies and so can you! You can hear from us by tuning in and every few minutes a testimony is shared and you will find my dear friends sharing with you. Let me know if you hear me.

I couldn't take pictures in the studio but I managed to get a few while some were recording. It was a great evening and we enjoyed some amazing pizza at this Sicilian place downtown afterward. We know how to have fun.

Too Early!

Last night we hosted a huge Valley wide Dance/game night/Charity event. Crazy work and fun!
Black and white theme with black light and every other crazy lighting you can imagine, balloons (cheesy I know, but it really worked well with what we were doing!) and black cut-outs of people dancing all over the walls! It looked awesome. The ticket in was a can of food to be donated in our community. Not to mention everyone was wearing black and white.
It was awesome! We had so much fun and collected so much food! I was partying non-stop and I am feeling it today, when I am here at work at 7:30 in the morning after not getting home until 1am. There is a difference between being up until one and being at work and being out dancing all night and being at work at 7:30.
I really realized how much I loved the people I work on my committee with. We know each other so well and we work well. We hang out as friends not just work together and that is nice. We are putting on a fireside on Sunday night, because we like to be busy, and are singing a musical number together that one of us arranged. I just feel totally loved, accepted and like I am in the right place.
I know I am in the right place and doing the right things for me. I have had the chance to be a part of so much and learned so much about who I am. No matter what other think, how my family feels or what is the common perception, I am happy. Rough days and moments happen but just look at how blessed I am. I refuse to give in to others perceptions and thoughts about the person I should be and I am living like I want to. I am happy being the odd man out and the exception to the rule. I never did do anything the easy way and was never what people expected. Different is ok friends! I am not different alone either, there is a huge world of people just like me out there. I am not better than anyone else or saying that my life is, just that I get the opportunity to be a part of this minority within our LDS culture that I am enjoying. I am having the time of my life and don't feel bad about not being married and reproducing at this point in my life. I have eternity to have a family and I am enjoying this time in my life.
I love how great life can be. Not perfect, not at all, but moments of surety that you are where you need to be and that you are the person you were meant to be. I am, and I love it!

Count Down

OK, here are a few things I am looking forward to in the next few months or so:

1. Star Trek Movie- I am a total Trekkie. I have a countdown from Star Fleet on my desktop and a screen saver of the new "Spock". Don't hate, I love it.

2. Mid-Singles Camping Trip- in June. I am planning it. I am excited! It is going to be a blast.

3. My few days in Provo living a 5-star lifestyle. I may even stop by and visit my sister...and spoil my nephew a little more.

4. Running. I am cleared to run again! Yippee! I am so excited. It has been a while but I started training again today on the treadmill. It is like heaven. I was tired of the bike.

5. Summer Vacations. I will be sure to let you know more about these later. Not to worry. For now just know that I am super excited.

A Night at Generic High

Well the activity went wonderfully well! It was so much fun and we had almost double the number of people that we normally have at events. I spent a lot of time getting ready and planning so I was thrilled to get such positive response. Logan was really helpful and I was really grateful. So, here are some of the pictures I got. Oh, and I used the colors of blue and gold in honor of good ol' PHS. Go Badgers!

After going through the time machine they entered the cafeteria where they were served Sloppy Joe's, Corn Dogs, Fries, Chili Cheese Fries, Green beans, Chocolate or normal Milk and Creamies. Complete with cafeteria trays and lunch "ladies".

A table full of jocks, feels so much like high school! I was taken back for a minute and it made me laugh.

The Math Team or the nerds, a table full of fun!

Our Mid-Singles Committee all dressed up for the occasion. Back row: Tony (the jock), Martin (student body president), Logan (Vice President). Middle Row: Lori (cowboy), Kari (gangster), Me (Principle), Vaughn (drama guy). Front row: Nicole (cheerleader), Heather (Math Team Captain) and Boyd (cheerleader). A great group that I really enjoy!

A close up of my 90's hair. YIKES! Who thought the swoopy bangs were a good idea? Not my fav. I have so much gunk in my hair that it is gross. I hated every second of it. I am weird about my hair being stiff though.

All in all it was a great night. I heard so many great things about the evening and that makes you feel good. In fact it went so well that my ward is going to borrow the idea and one based off mine. So much fun!
